Harry Kane: Will He Finally Win A Major Trophy?

Harry Kane is one of the most efficient and prolific strikers in the world today. One of England’s all time greats, Harry Kane has been a goal scoring machine throughout his career. However, Harry Kane has failed to win any major trophy in his career so far. After transferring from Tottenham Hotspurs to the German giants Bayern Munich, Harry Kane might end his trophyless run.

Here Are Some Interesting Stories About Harry Kane

Harry Kane is Bayern Munich’s most expensive transfer

At one hundred million euros, Kane is the most expensive transfer in league history. The expectations were correspondingly high from the start. And yet some people asked themselves the question around the start of the season: Is Kane worth that much money? He currently answers the pitch every three days. His influence on Bayern’s game is significantly greater than expected, and not just because of his goals.

FC Bayern will hold its annual general meeting on Sunday. It is expected that the new club boss Jan-Christian Dreesen will once again present record figures; sales (for the 2022/23 financial year) could exceed 800 million euros for the first time. The Kane transfer will not appear in the figures as it will be allocated to the current financial year.

Dreesen was CEO of UBS Bank Germany and CFO at FC Bayern. When did Kane refinance? Is it time? Dreesen laughed at the question after the win against Istanbul. “To be honest: No, it’s not that far yet. “It still takes a little while.” But you shouldn’t think like that. “Harry is a stroke of luck for us. It wasn’t foreseeable that it would turn out this way.” Kane doesn’t just score goals, “he also ties up opponents, which gives us more space and makes us play better overall.” It’s fun to watch Kane.

Harry Kane ran a tab of 1.2 million Euros in Munich

The Four Seasons Hotel Where Harry Kane ran a 1.2 million Euros tab

Kane arrived in Munich very quickly after his move from Tottenham Hotspur last August – although he is still staying in the hotel. The English newspaper “The Sun” reported that the “Four Seasons” stay had cost 1.2 million euros. That’s probably not true, Kane and Bayern don’t have to pay the extrapolated standard rate for the suite (12,000 euros per night). According to the report, there are six televisions in the room and there are also two marble bathrooms.

Harry Kane’s house search took a long time

Kane was still looking for a house for himself and his family: his wife Kate and he have four children. The family visits Munich again and again. His wife seems relaxed: She commented online with laughing emojis on a comment from Müller about the Kanes’ ongoing house search.

Harry Kane has been positively compared to Robert Lewandowski

Harry Kane is probably the most efficient striker in the world. The FC Bayern superstar could equal the record of his predecessor Robert Lewandowski. Club boss Jan-Christian Dreesen makes a special comparison with a football legend.

For a long time, the question was how Bayern would ever replace Robert Lewandowski, who moved to FC Barcelona for 45 million euros in the summer of 2022. Whether they can even replace him. Now Kane is making his enormous run in a phase in which Lewandowski is experiencing a crisis. The Polish superstar has been without a goal for six games and has not experienced such a goalless stretch in 13 years.

In the Champions League, the 35-year-old and his team embarrassed themselves in a 1-0 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk; his coach Xavi called the defeat a “disgrace”. In Spain, it is even said that Barcelona could now sign the 18-year-old super talent Vitor Roque from Atletico Paranaense earlier than planned. The Brazilian is not scheduled to arrive until the summer of 2024.

Two years ago, Lewandowski set a record in the Bundesliga with 41 goals in one season. Extrapolated, Kane would have a total of 51 goals at the end of this season, with his probably unsustainable rate of 1.5 goals per game. Is he ready to equal Lewandowski’s record – or even surpass it?

Dreesen replied with a smile: “I don’t know. That’s too much of a burden. He should just keep playing and score his goals. He doesn’t just score goals, he makes assists. Five in the league, two in the Champions League – let’s just see what happens at the end of the season.”

It would be the next trophy in Kane’s special collection. By then he should have found a house with a room for it.

Harry Kane had a fantastic start to his Bayern Munich career

After his first 15 games for Bayern across all competitions, Kane scored 19 goals. “There is no need for any further words,” said coach Thomas Tuchel given these statistics. “The performance tells the story.” And impressed captain Manuel Neuer emphasized: “Harry is a phenomenon.”

Thomas Muller is a fan of Harry Kane

The next comment from his colleague came promptly. Harry Kane made his way out of the FC Bayern dressing room on Thursday night with a cardboard box under his arm. Inside was the “Player of the Match” trophy, which the European Football Association UEFA had awarded him after the 2-1 (0-0) win against Galatasaray Istanbul.

Outside the players’ parking lot, fans were roaring, and Kane’s teammate Thomas Muller wrote on social media under a selfie that Kane had taken on the lawn with the award: “The next trophy for your hotel room.”

Some people who see Kane in the Bayern jersey think of the cult film “Groundhog Day.” This is how it goes for the English goalscorer on almost every match day: he plays, scores several times, collects individual trophies such as trophies and game balls, which he takes in Carrying boxes or plastic bags out of the stadiums – and then Müller jokes that his new colleague still hasn’t found a home in Munich.

Harry Kane has performed well in the Champions League

Harry Kane scored twice against Istanbul, and because of FC Copenhagen’s 4-3 win against Manchester United in the parallel game, Bayern are already winners of Group A of the Champions League and have qualified for the round of 16. Last weekend, Kane scored three goals in the Bundesliga’s top game against Borussia Dortmund (4-0). Saturday (3:30 p.m., Sky) the Munich team welcomes newly promoted team 1. FC Heidenheim.

Harry Kane has already scored multiple hat-tricks for Bayern Munich

The last promoted team to visit Munich was outclassed: Bayern won 8-0 against SV Darmstadt, where Kane also scored three goals. It’s already been an enormous week for the 30-year-old – and it could be one of the most successful of his career. “It’s nice and I enjoy it. I love scoring goals and winning,” said Kane on his way out of the stadium. It was “a great night,” he said.

The 30-year-old sets records and sets standards.

An excerpt: In his first four games in the premier class for Bayern, he scored four goals – only Roy Makaay could achieve that before. The captain of the English national team is only the fourth player to achieve three hat-tricks in his debut season in the Bundesliga – after Uwe Seeler, Klaus Matischak (both 1963/1964) and Siegfried Bronnert (1966/1967). And only ten games have been played in the league.

Harry Kane has been compared to German legend Gerd Muller as well

Gerd Muller during his heydays

The score against Istanbul was 0-0 until the 80th minute of the game. Dreesen said he didn’t think Kane would score two more goals. “But that’s his quality. He is then in the right place at that moment. And if you think about what a real nine has to be able to do: it has to be in the right place. When the ball comes – he puts it in. Gerd Muller – to take a great example as a reminder – did that too. That’s Harry’s quality. And he doesn’t just stand at the front, he also works backward, creating space. He’s really good.”

Harry Kane’s greatness and skill have never been questioned. However, his inability to perform in crunch games and seemingly find new ways to miss out on winning trophies has haunted his career. Perhaps a change of scenery to one of Europe’s most dominant clubs was exactly what the English striker needed.
